I haven't forgotten about this project.
I just have a busted ankle, and well, have zero motivation to do anything productive. Which I'm tired of, so I'm trying to get myself busy again. (Not that there is a lack of things to accomplish).
So, here is my current business to do list:
1. Write my business plan.
2. Start website (a biggie)
3. Pay for new email address that reflects my domain name, and not my internet service provider.
4. Start working on product samples
Things I have accomplished, a while ago, but done nontheless:
1. Purchased domain names
2. Market Research
3. Marketing Plan
4. Registered my business name with the province
5. Designed my Business Card--- (I am later going to screen print mine, to reflect the paper products I produce, but for now they are done more conventionaly).
I feel like accountability is going to help me get things done more efficiently. I also have a couple fun design projects to work on in the coming weeks for friends (one is for a wedding, another for a new business venture).

Canadian Bankers Association
The Canadian Bankers Association publishes a free booklet called Getting Started in Small Business. This is just one of many free publications they offer as part of an initiative called "Building a Better Understanding" to help give Canadians useful financial business information.
This particular publication helps you determine your goals, wether owning a small business is "right" for you, and to help you understand what starting a business involves. There is one on small business financing, and others for general consumers and homebuyers.

Welcome!
The purpose of this blog is to document the process of starting my small business, and sharing resources and tips I've found along the way. It's not going to pretty, funny or fancy, I just thought it would be smart to have a handy web resource to track information. I'll add as I make discoveries, and as I find helpful bits and pieces. Everything I share will be geared towards Canadian business start-up, sometimes more general resources, but hopefully more often links to great resources online.
I'm hoping this proves helpful!

PS. I need a more clever name for the blog.
